Privacy notice
This is the site of The Family Office Mortgage, a program that pairs a jumbo mortgage with an indexed universal life insurance policy and bank financing of part of its premiums. This notice says exactly what the site collects at each step. Inquiries go to one person: Kent Chesley.
The short version
- What you send through this site goes to one person: Kent Chesley.
- We ask for ranges, not exact figures, and never for medical details, account numbers or Social Security numbers.
- We do not sell your information.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics and session recording are off for you.
What we collect, and when
The site asks for more only after it has given you more. There are three levels, and you choose how far to go.
First, when you only browse
You are anonymous. You can use the calculator and see every page recalculated for your home’s price without telling us who you are. We record:
- the figures you try in the calculator: home price, down payment percentage, policy allocation percentage, mortgage rate, and which comparison you chose;
- the pages you open and the time you spend on them, including the sections you reach, the notes you expand and the actions you click;
- how you arrived: campaign tags and advertising click identifiers in the link you followed, the site that referred you, the first page you saw, your type of device, your approximate region as reported by our hosting platform, and the dates and number of your visits.
These are tied to a random identifier kept in a cookie, not to your name.
Second, when you save a comparison
To save your comparison at a private link, we ask for:
- your first name;
- your email address;
- which document you asked for.
From this point, your earlier anonymous activity in the same browser is joined to your record.
Third, when you request a personalized comparison
The request form asks for:
- where you are in the purchase, and your timing;
- the price range, state, ZIP code and intended use of the property;
- ranges for your household assets and income;
- how you plan to fund the purchase, and whether about half the price is available;
- the age band of the person who might be insured;
- which kinds of advisors you work with;
- your name and phone number, and any note you choose to add;
- your consent to be contacted.
If you leave the form part-way through, your answers are kept only if you had already given an email address.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for medical information, account numbers, Social Security numbers, tax returns or statements through this site. If you go on to underwriting, the lender, the carrier and the bank ask for what they need through their own processes, under their own privacy notices.
How it is used
- To prepare the comparison or send the document you asked for, and to contact you about it.
- To judge fit against the published criteria. Your asset and income ranges place a request in one of three groups: qualifies, needs a personal review, or not yet. A score is calculated from your answers and from how you used the site.
- To give Kent Chesley context. With your request he receives a summary of your visit: the pages you read and for how long, the home price you tested, whether you opened the risk management page and the brief for advisors, and how many times you have visited.
- To see which pages are read, and to improve the site.
Who receives it
Inquiries go to Kent Chesley and to no one else. He receives an email with your answers and the summary above, and a text message that carries only your first name, the group your request falls in, the price range and a link. Nothing sensitive is sent by text. He may also keep your inquiry in the client-management account he uses in his real estate practice.
Taking a request further means involving other people: Paul Finestone, who designs the policy and its financing, and later the lender, the carrier and the bank you apply to. That happens through Kent Chesley, in conversation with you. It does not happen automatically through this site.
We do not sell your information.
Service providers
Running the site involves companies that handle information for us, each for one purpose.
- Hosting. Serves the site, and reports an approximate region for each visit.
- Database. Stores requests, answers and the record of site activity. Everything is saved here first.
- Analytics. Records page views, interactions and session recordings, with every form field masked.
- Email. Delivers inquiries to Kent Chesley, and a confirmation to you.
- Text messaging. Delivers the short alert described above to Kent Chesley.
Cookies and analytics
The site sets one first-party cookie of its own: a random visitor identifier, kept for 13 months, that connects your visits and your use of the calculator. Details of how you first arrived are kept in your browser’s own storage and are attached to your record when you identify yourself.
The analytics service may keep its own identifier in your browser in order to work. Session recordings mask everything typed into a form field. No analytics event carries your name, your email address or your phone number. Those are held only in our database.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we honor it. Analytics and session recording are switched off for you, the visitor cookie is not set, and our analytics record none of your activity. Every page and the calculator still work.
Access and deletion
You can ask to see what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. There is no form to complete and you do not need to give a reason. Contact Kent Chesley:
